Eligibility
Joint-stock limited companies registered under Taiwanese law.
What’s offered
Shares the investment risk of building geothermal power plants by reimbursing a portion of surface-survey and well-drilling costs. The intent is to accelerate private-sector geothermal capacity additions.

Program structure
Eligible cost categories
- Surface survey costs — Geology, geophysics, and geochemistry surveys and analyses.
- Geothermal well drilling costs — Exploration wells, production wells, and re-injection wells — including drilling, casing, capacity testing, and wellhead installation.
Restrictions
- Cannot duplicate items already funded by another government incentive or subsidy program.
- Tail water from any installed geothermal power equipment must be re-injected back into the formation.
Application window
Rolling intake through 17:00 on 31 December 2030.
